Project Overview

The Idea & the Objective.
A photographic series made in empty rooms at the edge of the day, when light does most of the talking. The work looks at how little a space needs to hold a feeling.
Objective
To investigate stillness, negative space, and the architecture of emotion without relying on a subject to carry the image.

Concept, Research & Approach.
Each frame was built around a single plane of light. Research began with floor plans and shadow studies, then moved to long sessions of simply waiting in each room.
Shot on medium format with available light only. Edited down from four hundred frames to a sequence of twelve, ordered by the angle of the light rather than by location.
