Project Overview

The Idea & the Objective.
An ongoing body of research into how materials remember: folds in cloth, pressure in clay, the slow record that handling leaves behind.
Objective
To examine the traces left by touch, time, and transformation, and to turn them into a usable visual vocabulary.

Concept, Research & Approach.
Each test changes one condition only. The results are catalogued like evidence, with the failures kept alongside the successes.
Plaster, linen and paper were worked by hand, then photographed in raking light to bring the surface forward.
